SOME REVIEWS FOR MOTHERLAND
"Motherland is the debut production of new company Stage-Wright Productions. Its a great start. Last night an appreciative audience jigged along to the vintage soundtrack, laughed at the jokes and enjoyed the history lesson....."
"Ella Galinski was entirely believable as a strong minded freethinking bluestocking.....natural comedienne Jan Hookway (Mrs Hems) made a fabulous funny cockney cleaning lady - hard to imagine without a mop and bucket."
"This play tells a story worth a hearing and deserves an audience."

Motherland, Suze Gardner's cleverly titled play about birth control pioneer Marie Stopes had many things to recommend it.
......... is subtly structured so that most of the comic moments occur early in the action, and the more serious material comes into focus later on, adding substance whilst avoiding a frivolous or shallow effect. To my mind this was one of the best things about the play.
Motherland played to a full hall at Gittisham and deservedly so; it feels like a play that ought to be seen more widely.
